Minutes from the last meeting It was agreed that these were true. Matters arising There were no matters arising. Any other business This item on the agenda was talked about now, in case we ran out of time. Stephen Hughes said there was not enough information about Right to Control as it is starting on 1 December. We will invite Right to Control to a Partnership Board meeting. Stephen also said Debdale Park may be closed because of lack of funding. Councillor Evans said there is a formal complaint about this being made to the Chief Executive’s Department of the Council. Declaration of interest Mark Burton passed round a declaration of interest form. This lets members of the Partnership Board say what they do and who and what they are involved with. By having this information we can show there are no conflicts of interest in our work. NHS reforms Nick Gomm gave a presentation about this, which will be sent out with the minutes. Stephen Hughes asked about how accessible the information was to people with a learning disability? Delia Murphy asked about Continuing Healthcare Funding? 5 Nick said this is still part of the health budget. Councillor Evans said Health and Well-Being Boards were working together and did things in open and accessible ways. He also said the patient should be at the centre of things and Manchester People First has a role in communication. The ‘Big Health Check Up’ event The Good Health Sub-group put this event on. Maxine Rigby told us about the day. A lot of advocates, carers and health professionals came to it. People could have their health checked if they wanted. If they did it again, they would look for a different place to hold it, as it got too busy. Pam McCormack said the Health Focus Group has met and will be sending someone to represent them at the Health Sub-Group. Diane Eaton asked that the Health Sub-Group do a document about how important it is to have health-checks as part of the DES Project. Revised social care offer Diane Eaton gave a PowerPoint presentation, which will be sent out with the minutes. Stephen Hughes asked how this fits in with Right to Control? Diane said it was about the right to decide and using peer support to get good planning. Paul Brannick asked about health and safety with people re-heating meals in their own homes? Diane said they were looking at giving out things such as freezers. 6 Anna Fedeczko said assistive technology may make people feel even more isolated. Diane said this might be so and they need to look at it in more detail. Kay Ahmed asked about picking up equipment that was no longer being used? The best idea might be to ring up the main council number. Any other business Stephen Hughes said Manchester People First will be opening a new social group for people over 55 who have a learning disability. A leaflet will be sent out with the minutes. Pam McCormick said Gary Parvin will be representing the Health Sub-group at Partnership Board meetings.
